7 months (adjusted)

Cameron is 7 months adjusted today!

Adjusted age: 7 months

Actual age: 10 months, 5 days

Weight: 16 lb 3.3 oz

Height: Probably 25 inches

Diaper size: OS cloth

Clothing size: 3-6 months in almost everything, 6-9 months for footed sleepers

Medications/medical concerns: Just waiting on the echocardiogram for her PDA which is tomorrow.

Sleep: Goes to bed at around 8:00 and wakes up at around 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning. Major sleep regression with sleeping through the night, she has started waking up around 3 times per night. Takes 2-3 naps during the day. Usually a morning nap, afternoon nap around 1:00 and an evening nap around 4:00. Naps usually last for 30-60 minutes.

Eating: Nurses around 8 times in a 24 hour period with the nighttime wakeups, usually 5 times though just during the day. Eats 4 ounces of purees 3 times a day for a total for 12 ounces per day. She is also starting to experiment with finger foods. Currently I give her a mum mum (dissolving rice cake) with her puree meals. She loves her mum mums! Will start with chopped bananas and maybe apples in the next couple of days.

Developmental milestones: Rocks on her hands and knees almost constantly. Starting to try and scoot her knees in a forward movement but still no crawling yet. It will come soon I'm sure though. She is transitioning from a sitting position to hands and knees but she can not get into a seated position from laying down yet. She will now stand by herself holding onto something if we set her up like that (she can not pull herself up to a standing position although she does try). Over the last month she has become MUCH more expressive. She is laughing and smiling much more and expresses much more joy than she used to. She is also more expressive with her language although she is not babbling yet (babababa, dadadada). She does do individual consonants and plenty of vowel sounds just not babbling consonants yet. Starting to experience more stranger anxiety, acts very shy and uncomfortable when first seeing someone for the first time that she hasn't seen in a while, but starts to open up.

Best moment this month: I got two really special videos of Cameron laughing up a storm this month, something I've been previously unable to do as she was a tough crowd and not a lot would get her laughing. But with her new expressiveness she is smiling and laughing at many more things than she used to. I am really enjoying her being more interactive in that way.

And a comparison collage at 1, 3, 5, and 7 months adjusted.

She really is getting huge! And look how much hair she is getting!

Just my chubby baby

No real reason for this post other than to post some pictures of my awesome, chubby baby :) We have all hardwood floors other than the bedrooms so Cameron didn't really have much of an area to play. I fixed that with her new foam floor mat! She loves it :) Here she is with her sweet, crooked smile playing on her play mat!

Oh and I'm not sure if I'll post again this weekend so just a reminder that her echocardiogram is on Monday. Hopefully the PDA has closed in her heart and we won't have any surgeries in our future!!

10 months old (and an appointment update)

Cameron is 10 months old today!! That really freaks me out, she is way too close to being a year old. I am in complete disbelief at how fast this year has flown. In one short month it will have been a full year since I was put on hospital bed rest and in two months will be her big first birthday. I can't believe it.

My 10 month old!

We went to the NICU follow up clinic for a Bayley screening (developmental screening) and visit with the developmental neonatologist. The Bayley screening went great, the OT and doctor were completely happy with her scores. She was 50th percentile for cognitive skills, 24th percentile for language, and 34th percentile for motor skills, all for her adjusted age. A little slow on language but I already knew that since she is not babbling yet. Even still she is right where she is supposed to be for all three areas. The doctor was so impressed and was in such awe at how amazing she is doing, she even brought some nurse practitioners into the room to show them and kept saying she just couldn't believe she was a 26 weeker.

The downside is they do want Cameron evaluated by physical therapy. They think her ankles are tight, she is not really standing flat footed and she resists when anyone tries to bend her ankle into a flat footed position. They said it's entirely possible that we could see PT and they will think her ankles are just fine but they want her evaluated to be safe. I'm not sure when we will be going for that appointment as I'm waiting for the scheduler to call me back.

So overall it went well. Cameron is not delayed in any area which is great but just what we expected :)

Big girl!

Cameron is working on all kinds of milestones lately. Lately she has been standing all by herself! In the crib we have to stand her up like this but she will stay there on her own! If she is sitting in our laps on a chair or something she will pull herself up but it's harder to get a picture of that.

Pelee Island

I didn't get around to taking that many photos but I do have some. We had a lot of fun up until the trip back home. They cancelled the ferry back to the United States and didn't know when it would be running again. We had to take a ferry north to the mainland of Canada and drive all the way around the lake to get home. It was a travel nightmare! But overall the trip was good! We got Cameron a new toy for the trip, it's a caterpillar that comes apart and she loved it! That is what she is playing with a lot in these photos.
