8 months (adjusted)

Cameron was 8 months adjusted on Wednesday so this post is late. I have really been slacking on the blog lately but I will get back to normal posting soon!

Adjusted age: 8 months, 2 days

Actual age: 11 months, 7 days

Weight: 17 lb, 6.3 oz

Height: By my measurements 27.75 inches

Diaper size: OS cloth

Clothing size: Still in some 3-6 month, mostly 6-9 and 6-12 though, all 6-9 month pajamas

Medications/medical concerns: None. Her DPA is closed and her physical therapist discharged her today!

Sleep: Goes to sleep at 8:00, wakes up at around 8:30 most days, sometimes a little bit later. Still getting up about 3 times per night to nurse back to sleep. Takes two naps per day. We finally have a very predictable nap schedule. Usually she sleeps from 12-1 and from 4-5.

Eating: Nursing 4 times during the day usually, and about 3 times per night for a total of 7 times in a 24 hour period. She eats two jars of baby food for a total of 7-8 oz of purees and usually 2 finger food snacks. She loves puffs and mum mums!!

Developmental milestones: Wow, have we had an explosion this month or what!? Four major things have happened since last month. The biggest one: CRAWLING!! I love that she can crawl and move around as she pleases. And man is she a speed crawler! She can also transition from laying down to sitting up. It's cute, I will go in to find her awake from a nap just sitting up. She is also pulling herself up to standing on everything in sight! She loves doing it. She wants to be standing up closer to the rest of the world instead of being on the floor all the time. Lastly, she is babbling!! I had been worried about her speech just a little bit but we had a speech explosion. She is babbling all the time now. I am so proud of her! What a fun month it has been!

Teeth: Cameron got her first two teeth this month!! They are her bottom front teeth. It is so adorable :)

Best moment this month: Definitely when Cameron learned to crawl. This is my favorite milestone so far. Crawling babies are so much fun.

11 months old

How did Cameron get this old? Only one short month until her first birthday. I can't believe it.

I should blog, shouldn't I?

I haven't updated in a while. I guess you could say Cameron has kept me quite busy! She is all over the place these days. Not only is she crawling but she is pulling herself up on everything! Couch, chair, entertainment center, you name it. She's entering a very injury prone stage of life so I'm watching her now more than ever. She has pulled herself up to standing on the couch and then let go which ends in her head hitting the ground and a very sad mama and baby. But I absolutely love this age, she is so active and she is very happy about it!! You can almost see her brain working as she explores every corner of the house. I have yet to get a video of her pulling up but I hope to do so soon.

We are still on tooth watch. Her first tooth is coming through and her 2nd is on its way! She is more crabby than usual but overall she is doing really well with it! Nothing like other horror stories I've heard of teething babies. I finally got a picture, and while it's TERRIBLE quality at least it's something. For those of you who have ever tried to get a picture of a baby's tooth, I think you understand.

First tooth!
In other news, that house we were going to buy? Well, we had the home inspection and it didn't go well. There are mold and foundation issues with the house so I think we are going to walk away. I am totally bummed but back to the drawing board we go.

Anyways, I will leave you with a cute video. I put shoes on Cameron the other day for the first time since she was very young and she didn't quite know what to think of them!

Some updates

First off, Cameron went to physical therapy today and the therapist was impressed! She was so happy with the improvement. So she doesn't want to see us again for two weeks instead of one. She is going to keep an eye on her but is very confident this will be an easy fix.

And now for some non-Cameron news, Josh and I are buying a house!! We got our pre-approval, looked at houses, put an offer on a house, came to an agreement, signed the contract, and put in our formal loan application. We close at the end of September! I am so excited. Mostly I am excited for Cameron to have plenty of room to play. She will even have her own playroom!! We do not have the luxury of that in our current situation. She has almost no room to run around. I am so glad she is going to have all this space once we move! Josh and I love the house and we are just so happy. So that's it for now, eventually I'm sure I will post pictures and all that stuff.

What do we have here?

Just when we schedule weekly therapy sessions for Cameron, she decides to start standing flat footed. It's still not 100% of the time but as shown in the photos, she stands like this of her own accord and has been doing this more and more often. We will see what her physical therapist says on Wednesday but it seems to be resolving itself at the moment. Great news!

Teething

Well it's official, Cameron is teething. She looks to be cutting her very first tooth. She is not a happy camper at all. There is an indentation forming on the front bottom gums and I can feel a tiny little sharp point if I rub it. Hopefully it passes quickly and I can get a picture of it soon :) Babies with teeth are adorable!

Physical therapy

Cameron went to her physical therapy evaluation yesterday. There is good news and bad news.

Bad news: The PT does want to continue working with her and would like to see her every week for the time being.

Good news: She does not think it is an issue of muscle tone or muscle tightness, she believes it's more of a behavioral thing. Part of it seems that Cameron does not like the feel of anything on her feet so she tries to get as far up on her tippy toes as possible. Similarly, whenever someone's hand touches her feet she automatically flexes them with her toes pointed. A behavioral issue is much better than an anatomy issue and a much easier fix. She doesn't think it will take long to get it taken care of.

So I'm very happy with that news overall. As with most health professionals that see Cameron, the physical therapist raved about her, she said Cameron does not even compare to other 26 weekers that she sees. She feels Cameron is developing absolutely beautifully and she literally has zero other concerns. Another rave review for my awesome girl :)

One more video

Cameron is getting better and better at crawling every day. The last video I posted consisted of a lot of awkward scooting. In this video she is very much so coordinated on all fours! She is learning so fast!

Oh and I finally got Cameron's physical therapy evaluation scheduled, it will be this coming Wednesday at 11 am. I am nervous to see what they say. Obviously I hope they say everything is fine but for some reason I feel like they are going to say she needs ongoing therapy. We'll see!

Another video

This time we're crawling! Now, it's not speed crawling or anything but Cameron is scooting her way all over the place nowadays. She sees what she wants and she goes and gets it. No more crying for mommy to go get it for her :) But I definitely have to keep more of an eye on her. I will be doing something not really paying attention to her, and unlike the past when I look up she is NOT in the place I left her. She really enjoys making her way over to our shoes to chew on them, not exactly something I want her chewing on!

Cameron is babbling :)

I've been all worried about Cameron not babbling, wondering if she will develop a speech delay since babbling is a 6 month skill and she hadn't done it by 7 months adjusted. But she just started doing it this morning and has not stopped! She is suddenly a very talkative girl :)
