27 months

Age: 27 months

Weight: 27 lbs (40%) - this is the first month I've weighed her clothed. That's how I'll continue to do it.

Height: 33.25 in (12%)

Diaper size: 4

Clothing size: Some 12-18, 18-24, some 2T. Really moving away from 12-18 and into 2T. But primarily 18-24 for the moment.

Shoe size: 6

Medications/medical concerns: None

Eating: She is increasingly picky. Loves cookies and the like. She still does eat pretty well, fruits and veggies and protein, etc.  Loves yogurt, applesauce, blueberries, salad.

Developmental milestones: One of the newest, most exciting things this month is counting. She is definitely getting there, she likes to start at eleven, but she can go "eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen". She sometimes skips numbers but she really has the whole thing down. She will also do something like "one, two, five, nine, eleven....." She likes the teens better than the ones for some reason!

She talks more and more in sentences and is making more and more sense out of the world. Pretty much every single thing she says is true words. Most of it I can understand.

She is getting better at jumping and general gross motor. It seems this area has been slow lately, but she seems to be focusing on it for the moment. She loves to jump and throw and catch, and she does things like grab onto our fingers and then wants us to lift her up. But she is doing 100% of the weight bearing in her hands. We don't hold onto her at all.

Teeth: 18! We have movement on the molar front, bottom two molars are in (mostly).

I wrote this a while back, but never published it for some reason. So here it is.

26 months

This is super late again.

Age: 26 months

Weight: 26 lb 5 oz (35%)

Height: About 33 inches (12%)

Diaper size: 4

Clothing size: Pretty much just 18-24 at this point. 12-18 is still doable, but definitely small.

Shoe size: About a solid 6, still can get into a few 5s though

Medications/medical concerns: None

Sleep: 8ish until around 8:30 in the morning. Naps about half the time these days. The other half she hangs out in her room quietly playing for a little while.

Eating: Becoming pickier. She is realizing that she has control over her foods. It's getting to be a bit of a power struggle. I'm trying not to give into tantrums, she will insist on things and I will just have to kind of ignore it. She eventually starts eating what is in front of her. What seems to be helping is giving her two choices. In the mornings I will ask her if she wants a banana or applesauce, yogurt or cheese at lunch, etc.

Developmental milestones: Talking more and more and more. A very large portion of what she says can be understood by Josh and I. Lots of two word phrases. She is picking up words a lot just by hearing us talk instead of us explicitly teaching them. She is also starting to say more sentences than just the two words. She will say things like "daddy catch it!" when she throws a ball. Or she will say "mommy here's a pretzel". She is definitely developing the ability to make longer statements, even if right now they are still learned as more of a unit, than single words, she is getting it I think as separate units, but it is just easier for her to learn phrases as she hears them.

She knows some shapes, letters, colors, and numbers. We are working on this stuff regularly now. When we lay her blankets on her at night she goes "one, two, three!". She recognizes a lot of shapes and she is trying to get colors down.

She is doing great coloring! A month ago she would just draw lines. Now she does lots of different things, circles, squiggles, etc.

She is trying to jump and she can throw a ball very well, and she is learning to catch the ball too.

Also, she has been trying to sing sometimes. She likes to sing the hot dog song from Mickey Mouse, it goes "hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog", but she just says "hot dog hot dog hot dog hot dog" etc. And she tries to sing a few other songs that we've sung to her. Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool, to her is "baabaa black sheep uhnyuhnywoooo".

Teeth: 16 still, waiting on the last molars

25 months

Age: 25 months

Weight: 26 lb, 0 oz

Height: 32.5 in

Diaper size: 4

Clothing size: 12-18 and 18-24

Shoe size: 5 or 6

Medications/medical concerns: None

Sleep: Night, 8/8:30 to 8 in the morning, nap, 1/1:30 to around 3.

Eating: Still eats great! She is obsessed  I mean obsessed, with yogurt. She asks for it all day every day. She will eat the whole thing with a spoon and then put the spoon down and scoop the sides up with her fingers and lick it off her fingers. The girl can't get enough.

Developmental milestones: Communication is progressing every day. She is definitely stringing two words together now. Yesterday I was folding some laundry and when I got to Josh's work clothes she kept pointing and saying "daddy shirt! daddy shirt!". Later in the day she wanted me to put on a pair of sunglasses and she held them out to me and kept saying "mommy glasses! mommy glasses!!" until I put them on. She says things like "all done shoes" when she wants her shoes off, or "help mommy". "She will say "more/please {insert food/drink choice here}". Typically "yogurt please!" or "more pasta!". It is really cute. And of course she will say goodbye to things, like "bubye doggie!" Every time we leave a room or something she will say bye bye to whatever things she sees as we are walking out, haha.

She tells us after she has pooped these days. "Poopoo!" And she tells us when she has a boo boo. This I love. Now when she is hurting she can tell me that she is and I know to give her tylenol or something. Usually though it is just something very small, like she hurts her finger, and she pouts and says "booboo" and holds it out for me to kiss it. I can only see my life getting easier and easier as she learns to communicate more and more things that she hasn't been able to before. She can tell me whether she wants to watch Elmo or Mickey, or whether she wants grapes or a banana. It's very nice!

Teeth: 16. Still waiting on the last molars.

I brought out my camera and switched lenses. I am going to try and get back into more blogging and photos!

2 years old!!! (24 months)

Age: 24 months

Weight: 25 lb, 1 oz (28%)

Height: 32 in (10%)

Diaper size: 4

Clothing size: 12-18 and 18-24

Shoe size: She is growing out of size 4 shoes, wears mostly size 5 or 6, both fit her well right now but it will be 6 for the duration of winter.

Medications/medical concerns: None

Sleep: Night, 8/8:30 to 8 in the morning, nap, 1/1:30 to around 3.

Eating: She is eating great as always, loves fruit as always, loves yogurt and mac and cheese

Developmental milestones: Speech continues progressing, she is starting to *try* to use 2 word phrases. Consistently she can say "hi doggie/daddy/mama". Other than that it is hard for her. I have gotten her to ask for things saying please a handful of times, she will say please alone all day long if it means getting what she wants, but coupling it with another word is hard for her, but she has tried to say things like "sticker please" or "cookie please".

It's very interesting to me how this all works, she has so much trouble separating vowel sounds from different words. Sometimes if I ask her to say "hi mama", she will say "hi mymy", she carries over the "i" sound to mama. She does that almost every time she tries to use a two word phrase. And then she will try it again until it comes out right. It's like a tongue twister, or the way adults have a hard time rubbing their stomach in circles and patting the top of their head at the same time.

Teeth: 16, she now has all of her canines. Only the 2 year molars are left.

This month of course was her birthday!! We had such a great day. She got her play kitchen first thing and LOVES it. She would play with it for hours if she could. Then she had breakfast and went to her playgroup. We came home for lunch and she took her nap. After her nap we went to Build-a-Bear and she had a blast. I was a bit worried she wouldn't be interested, but she totally was. She was so very happy looking at all the stuffed animal options and we settled on a bunny because of the way she just lit up and hugged this thing like crazy. She immediately yelled "bubby! bubby!" (her word for bunny) when she was holding it. So we stuffed it and picked out an outfit. She saw these bunny slippers (how fitting) and loved them, again yelling "bubby! bubby!". So we put those on her bunny and picked out a night robe to go with it. We named her "Bubby" of course, and I can not believe how very attached Cameron already is to that thing. She would hug and snuggle it endlessly and she has insisted on bringing it with her everywhere since yesterday. After Build-a-Bear went and got her Panera mac & cheese, which she absolutely loves, and she had that and yogurt for dinner. Then we got her an M&M sugar cookie for her birthday treat and of course that was a hit. Overall it was a pretty laid back day, but we made sure that she enjoyed herself. We got her to start answering "two" when asked "how old are you?", it is really cute. Her birthday party is on Saturday and we are really excited!

23 months

Late again!

Actual age: 23 months

Adjusted age: 20 months

Weight: 24 lb 11 oz (27%)

Height: I measured about 32 inches, but the doctor in July measured about 28. We'll see what her pediatrician says later this month. For now I am going to go with my measurements. 32 inches would put her at about 13%.

Diaper size: 4

Clothing size: 12-18 or 18-24

Medication/medical concerns: None

Sleep: Same as always, 8 or 8:30 at night to 8 or 8:30 in the morning. One nap from 1-2:30 or 1:30-3.

Eating: This has definitely been a picky month. I am finding that if I switch things up more she is more inclined to eat well. She gets sick of having a banana every morning at breakfast or if she has strawberries too much.

Developmental milestones: Her speech continues to develop more and more. She is constantly picking up new words and using them. She has learned "hot" and she is telling me whenever she comes into contact with anything that is warm/hot. Her feet on the concrete on a hot day, food, etc. It is really cute.

She is becoming more social in the sense that she will play with other kids when they are around.

She has also started to pay attention to Sesame Street. She LOVES Elmo. As much as I didn't want to expose her to a whole ton of TV too early on, I am enjoying the break I get while Sesame Street is on.S

She is starting to be able to do stairs. Smaller steps she can do without holding on to anything anymore.

Teeth: Right now she has 15 teeth, one of her bottom canines has popped through, the other is right there though. After that she'll just have two year molars left.
